Toronto, June 12, 2009 – Twenty original pieces of art created by North America’s most respected marketing and business leaders will be unveiled next Tuesday night at an unusual fund-raising gala called Art from the Unexpected.
Tasked by Ad Lounge to step out of the boardroom and create an original piece of art, 20 top marketers and business leaders from Toronto, Vancouver, New York, and Seattle will present their one-of-a-kind creations at Tuesday night’s silent auction to help raise funds for SKETCH, a Toronto arts charity for street-involved and homeless youth.
Leaders including advertising icon Frank Palmer, chairman and CEO, DDB Canada; Goodwin Gibson, president, MacLaren MRM, Dave Stevens, general manager, MySpace Canada; Andrea Stairs, head of marketing, eBay Canada; and others will be available for interviews to discuss their art, what inspires them to think creatively, and the power of creativity at a time when businesses need it the most.

6:40 p.m. Introductory remarks, silent auction begins
6:50 - 7:15 p.m. 1-minute presentations by participating artists

Who: Co-hosted by Terry O’Reilly, host of CBC Radio’s “Age of Persuasion” and founder of Pirate Radio & Television, and Phyllis Novak, Artistic Director, SKETCH
20 top marketers and business leaders from Toronto, Vancouver, New York, and Seattle.
Why: The event was created to encourage creativity in business at a time where it’s needed most. Gaining a new perspective from seeing what motivates these industry greats to be creative will radiate inspiration, enabling others to colour outside the lines of convention.
